The first term for our new Sixth Classes 🐣

What a busy few weeks it has been for our sixth classes settling back into school after the fantastic summer holidays ☀️ The girls have been learning lots of new skills and engaging in lots of challenges and activities 🙌🏼 One of the highlights for us so far was “Space Week” 🪐 Each student had the opportunity to present a project which suited them best from a choice board. Some used engineering skills to make rocket ships, others got creative and invented new planets, some used technology to make cool videos and others used their writing skills to make posters. Each student did a fantastic job 🪐 For maths week, sixth class engaged in lots of activities but one favourite was the outdoor maths trail. Who says maths has to be boring? 🙌🏼 In art, our students have been learning all about colour theory and created beautiful ‘Eye’ masterpieces. They also put their creativity into clay to make some spooky monsters 👹 We definitely have some future scientists in our classrooms after experimenting with liquids, solids and gases. The girls turned a liquid into a gas and blew up a balloon in a recent experiment 👩🏼‍🔬 Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland paid us a visit with very special guest, Ernie 🐶 It was fantastic to learn about how Ernie and his other fellow assistance dogs help those when needed. This week, to get us in Halloween spirits, sixth class got to play some ‘spooky’ games and also decorate apples in yummy melted chocolate and marshmallows 🍫 Lots more has been happening these weeks. Below are some photographs to give you a snippet of life in sixth class SCM.
